Private North a Military Romance edition by Tess Oliver Romance eBooks
A rich college girl gets the opportunity of a life time to help her favorite college professor, and his larger than life son over Christmas Break, catalog artifacts....and then BOOM, the dark, brooding other son, who happens to be a wounded vet, oh and by the way, dangerously sexy, comes home as well....Sounds like the stage is set for a love triangle, right? No...no it isn't. Had the potential to be pretty good...but it just didn't hit the mark. The love aspect was very predictable and dull, and the "Mystery" part...wasn't a mystery at all...Just seemed like fodder to fill the pages. So, will I be recommending this to anyone? No, no I won't....am I going to spend the rest of the evening pondering the outcome of this book...No, I won't...Probably will have forgotten all about it by tomorrow.Product details

Private North a Military Romance edition by Tess Oliver Romance eBooks Reviews
This is the second Tess Oliver book I’ve read. I decided to check this one out after I enjoyed Paradise (Girl Friday). Once again I was pleased to find an intriguing story with a nice balance of suspense and romance. Auggie is a smart, strong, and sensible female character and Dalton is…well… quite sexy in a slightly broken, heart of gold, intense hero sort of way. The two have great chemistry – the author just has a way of making seemingly every day interactions between them feel fueled with longing.
There is a bit of mystery as to what is going on with the precious artifact that Dalton’s father, Professor North, is holding; and the story, told from Auggie’s POV, is crafted in such a way that the intentions and motivations of all of the North men keep you guessing at one time or another. In fact about two thirds of the way through I couldn’t put it down—I just had to know how it was going to turn out.
The author also does a good job with the setting, capturing the cold icy landscape and slightly remote location to enhance the feelings of loneliness, isolation, and desperation that the various characters sustain.
There is no cliffhanger and all of the main plot points are resolved, although the last chapter still left me wanting more of Auggie and Dalton. Some books leave you as soon as you close the last page; others stick with you—good or bad. This one is definitely one that lingers with a good feeling.
I loved this book very much. This story had a smile on my face from the beginning to the end. The characters were easy to fall in love with. This story even has a bit of mystery with a lot of romance. I read this book in one setting and yes it kept me up late. Tess Oliver's books always make me happy when I read them.
Th was a good read although a little predictable and the love story part was little dull. It could have used so,me more intense moments that made you really feel the connection between August and Dalton. Then ding was also a little abrupt and it could have been a little more fluffed up.
Expect nothing less when you read Tess Oliver. This was another wonderful read with love, heartache, and confusion. Auggie and Dalton have great chemistry from the start and even though you can predict the storyline, you find yourself wanting to see how it all plays out. You will enjoy this romance as you spend afternoon reading.
A little mystery, a little broken family, a little wounded warrior, and a heartwarming romance. Miss Oliver kept me guessing with how the mystery was going to turn out, but I'm glad the romance wasn't as much of a mystery. These two needed each other and it would be interesting to see how they fare through the next set if challenges... Hint Hint
Mystery, romance and suspense all wrapped into one story. A lot going on in this story so kept me turning the pages.
I truly liked all the characters and felt a connection with them. Everyone has a chance to heal their inner wounds.
Not her best, but still a good read. Not highly erotic, but a good romance.
This book was a surprising read to me. It went in a different direction than what I thought it would towards the end. It had romance, a little suspense, and mystery. It was a quick read, and seemed more of an instant-love type book. Sometimes it's just nice to read a book that is not full of angst and heartbreak at every page, and this one fit my mood perfectly that day.
